Our History
1947 - Founded as Serrana Shipping Society, Fertimport was born as a logistics arm of Bunge – a group of which
we are part to this day – acting as cabotage shipowners in the transport of phosphatic rock in bulk.
In the 1950s, our activities expanded to maritime agency and port operation, meeting the demand for foreign trade services and importing raw chemicals and fertilizer materials.
In the 1960s and 1970s – The following 20 years were dedicated to expanding and diversifying our
operations in the international logistics segment.
In the 1980s - We started to agency large companies and coordinated large discharges – as the largest shipment of
sulfur ever imported by Brazil was carried out in the operation of the ship Olga Topic. And it was in the port of Santos,
that we discharged sodium sulfate for the first time in the country, in addition to several other relevant operations.
1989 - We assume the name Fertimport, with which we are among the leaders of port logistics operations to this day.
